Thanks Razzak.

It was really one of those silly things where I believed I had covered every eventuality but I got caught because that was only true after my command file had run once.

As I was TRACing through immediately after conversion from v7.6 to v9.0 that was not YET true. As far as I know at the moment that should only happen after an upgrade. Presumably v9.0 is that much stricter and v7.6 would have skipped over the error. Whatever, I can correct it easily but it just goes to show that you shouldn't always believe what you know.

Come to think of it, it does raise another point: I couldn't check from within TRACE what the setting for MESSAGES (in my case) was without stopping and checking at the R:> then running trace again until I proved myself wrong. Would it be useful for TRACE to have a function key that displays the current settings at that precise point in the program?

Regards,
Alastair.

Alastair,

Take a close look at the initial setting when an UNLOAD/LOAD command
is used to UNLOAD/LOAD database, table structure with or without data.

Opening the file in R:BASE Editor (with Syntax Highlighting) should
provide you with some blue's clues.

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
