  I agree with you. Once they "hire you", you will provide all necessary
information for a background check. You may have to agree to not start
working until after the background check is completed.

So a prospective client is asking me to sign releases to conduct a
background check for security reasons and these forms state that I am
allowing them to access all sorts of personal information after suppling
my social, birthdate, and dr lic.  Now I'm kinda okay with this because
this SEEMS to be a legit company.  However I have nothing stating they
are going to pay for my services and the rate, what those service will
be,  and length of service time, would I be unreasonable to requests
this (and make it contingent on whether I pass the check) BEFORE I allow
some stranger poke around my personal information?
