If somehow this is related to a power down situation, maybe the
following could help:

Caffeine by Zhorn Software

Or google for "mouse jiggler" and see if one of those solutions helps.

Some are free/donation software, some are purchase. It be interesting
to know if one of these resolves the situation.

Quite a few people I know are experiencing drive disconnects in XP or 7
and the above has not been tried here.

Thanks to all.
That power savings scenario sounds like a good possibility.

Dennis,

One thing to look for is to go to the control panel and make sure that
under
the power management area that you un-check
"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Dropped connection

Local area network with Windows XP and 3 PC's and Rbase 7.1 Runtime

The server is a dedicated XP PC.

1 gb netgear switches.

With application running but idle, occasionally the dbfiles are
mysteriously closed on one or more PC's. The PC's are all still mapped
to the app folder on the server.

Network performance/speed seems to be fine.

Any ideas?

TIA,

Dennis
