I just installed Update 4 for Rbase 9.1/64 and noticed "Requested
Enhancements 09. General - Significant speed improvements have been made in
which commands are processed for multi-core processor Windows 7 computers."
and have a question. Can you elaborate on what this enhancement does and how
it works? For example: Is this Windows 7 only or does this work with Vista
or XP? What about Server 08? What functions are multi-threade and how do
we take advantage of this new feature?

Scott, John, Javier, et al,

The speed improvements were made possible with the combined efforts of the
RBG9 RDCC Development Team and the valuable feedback from one of R:BASE
Technologies' Corporate customers.

R:BASE enhancements were made to improve the display rate logic for tables
at the Database Explorer, when the AUTONUM command is used, in all fashions
of sorting, and when indexes are created.

Also, through the continued process of maintaining the R:BASE engine code,
where legacy logic is replaced with more current algorithms, the constant
streamlining of existing logics, along with taking advantage of the latest
development environments for which R:BASE is actually created, users running
Windows 7 64-bit computers with Quad-Core processors will see a significant
speed boost in running R:BASE.

There are no settings within R:BASE that initiate the use of all available
processor cores as this is handled by the operating system.

We have not yet tested the speed on Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008
operating systems with Quad-Core processors.

For this and more breaking news, we urge all to attend the 2011 Annual
R:BASE Conference this October.

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
