If I may add one comment, depending on the switch fabric of 1Gb router,
your internal speed can greatly improve if you have a business class
router. The capacity to watch for is the "switch fabric". I installed
a 24 port "home use" class switch here once in an emergency situation.
Even though all ports were rated 1Gb, the switch could not handle the
traffic. Installing a used major brand 10/100 business class model
improved the situation significantly. I have also found this with 8
port switches, some inexpensive ones work perfectly because they can
handle the traffic and some other brands cannot. This note in case you
were expecting greater in house performance. I'm not a network expert,
this is just what I ran into and had to resolve.

(We have bonded T1's, hoping for fiber to reach us this year).

Hans/Mark,

Thanks for the info.

Confirmed what I thought.
