Bada bing, bada boom! Emptying rstyle.new did it for me. My file had grown to 65,624 bytes. I removed all but one line and re-saved it. Now everybody is happy again.

Rstyle.new is updated if necessary when you rstyle a file. If you don?t copy the data from the new file to either Cas or Var then from then on your columnnames and variables will be lower cased when rstyled again. A careful reading of the docs will clue you in on the uses for all the files.
