Hi Frank,

I put rbase on the DEP exception list to no avail. But it got me to
thinking about compatibility mode in windows 7. I turned on compatibility
mode for windows xp service pack 3 and it doesn't seem to be happening
anymore. I'll keep an eye on it for a few days and see what happens.

Thanks to all for your comments and assistance.

Have you checked the event logs on these machines to see if they are
reporting anything related to RBase. Also check your DEP (Data Execution
Prevention) See if it is set for All programs and Services, and if so, add
RBase as an exception. Or change it to essential windows and programs.

I have also seen something like this on a monitor/graphics card issue where
it would cause a resolution change or refresh and the RBase Program would
"Disappear" but stay running in task manager. You would see a graphics
issue in the event log of the machine if this was the case.

Good morning everyone,

I'm trying to research an old problem and see if anyone has any ideas. I've
reported this problem to Rbase but can't cause the problem to happen and so
I can't get the problem fixed. This problem seems to be happening on my
Windows 7 desktop in a Windows Server environment. We have 30 workstations
and 18 databases, all similar. One or more users can be accessing a
database at any moment in addition to TerraScribe/Script with Oterro. How
many users are logged in at the time of the error are unknown. Here's what
happens.

1. 15 to 20 times each day Rbase will terminate (blink out). Timeout = 0

2. Rbase is always idle when it happens.

3. Sometimes I'll be at an R prompt, sometimes not.

4. Sometimes I'll have an edit screen up, sometimes not.

5. Sometimes I'll have multiple databases open on my desktop, sometimes
not.

6. I'll usually reorg my database immediately when this happens thinking
that there's an integrity issue with the database. This doesn't seem to
have any effect.

Any ideas everyone? Thanks for reading.
