Its like our end of the connection was there, but no one was at the other end.
Code still gave a YES result.

Does the R:BASE form, where the Internet test is performed, also contain
other controls,
like perhaps a Web browser control?
Can you confirm that you actually have Internet access?
It sounds like "you" have Internet access, but where the browser was going
"didn't".
Could the browser visit other sites?
