I had the computer tech do it when I bought the laptop, so I have no idea. I specified Win 7, and it came that way but the drivers are Win 8. Here's a link that might help

I'm using Win 7 Pro - available as an option within Win 8.1. It's rock solid. It just avoids the annoyances of the Win 8 interface.

Any suggestions for upgrading an old HP laptop (XP) to a new Windows

    7/8 laptop?

I have still another user on my MS word office so I may need a cd drive.

    TIA,

    Dennis
