It may also be worth investigating the "run times" for your
workstation/server scheduled tasks.
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Task Scheduler
Within the general "Task Scheduler Library" tier, you may have
several software vendors with automatic updates taking place (e.g.
Google, Adobe, Java, Microsoft, etc.) running at inopportune times.
Within the Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft tier, you may have
Windows tasks (e.g. defragmenter, diagnostics, backup, Windows
Defender, Office, etc.) running at inopportune times.

We keep having sporadic performance issues on our network. As a

Have you considered the option of running your entire R:BASE eXtreme
9.5 (64) database/application on MS 2012R2 cloud server environment?
You also have the option to run your entire R:BASE eXtreme 9.5 (64)
database/application on MS 2012R2 as Remote Desktop environment to
take advantage of the actual server.
