Also, the Windows environment variable for the current user’s 
home (profile root) directory is USERPROFILE.  If you issue a command like CD 
%USERPROFILE%\Desktop you will change to the current user’s desktop.  You can 
do the same thing with the copy command:

COPY <SOURCEPATH>\<SOURCEFILE> %USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP
Or
COPY <SOURCEPATH>\<SOURCEFILE> %USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP\<DESTINATIONFILE> (if you 
want to rename the file).

Normally the default path is c:\user\username

At this point I would just copy the file like this

R:>COPY filename.txt c:desktop\filename.txt

Another way would be

R:>COPY filename.txt c:\user\username\desktop\filename.txt
