Thank you very much Chief. It is now working
real great. I appreciate your responsiveness and hints.
BTW, the default date format and date
sequence in OTERRO.CFG are different from the default settings in
RBASE.CFG. Is there a good reason for the difference?
Thanks.

Subject: Re: Accessing RBase for Windows
6.5+ data from Excel 2000
Aloha Stan,
Those -ERROR- messages are the result
of different default settings in OTERRO.CFG vs. RBASE.CFG file in
PATH.
Follow these steps to avoid those -ERROR-
messages:
01. Using the Windows explorer, search for OTERRO.CFG
file(s) in PATH.
02. Make sure to keep/copy ONLY ONE OTERRO.CFG
file in C:\windows
03. Using any text editor, edit OTERRO.CFG file
and make sure that following settings are as below:
MULTI
ON TRANSACT OFF AUTOCOMM OFF AUTOCONV OFF AUTORECO OFF AUTOROWV
OFF AUTOSYNC OFF AUTOUPGR OFF COMPATIB ON
04. Make sure that
above settings in OTERRO.CFG are consistent with RBASE.CFG file in PATH,
i.e:
MULTI ON TRANSACT OFF AUTOCOMM OFF AUTOCONV
OFF AUTORECO OFF AUTOROWV OFF AUTOSYNC OFF AUTOUPGR
OFF COMPATIB ON
05. When using Oterro 2000, I also recommend to keep
default RBASE.CFG in c:\windows.
In that case, you need to edit
RBASE.INI file to reflect that change,
i.e:
CFGFile=C:\WINDOWS\RBASE.CFG
Also make sure you are only
using one RBASE.CFG file in PATH.
There you have it
...
Enjoy and make sure to have fun!
Note:
Among many
engine level fixes and enhancements, the upcoming upgrade version of
Oterro 2000 (ver 2.5), to be released on July 16, 2001, includes the fix
to create default OTERRO.CFG consistent with RBASE.CFG!
Very Best
Regards,
Razzak.
