Hi Alastair,
On the export/import... change your quote settings to ~ (tilde) or some
other not used symbol, then export,then import to new database also changing
the quote to ~... then change quote back to ' when done.
Along the lines of:
conn olddb
SET QUOTE=~
output text.dat
unload data blah blah as ascii
out scr
SET QUOTE='
conn newdb
SET QUOTE=~
load table from text.dat as ascii
SET QUOTE='
