Jim -

Interesting - I thought that old bug had been fixed ...

BUT you may have uncovered another clue to the problem - hopefully, it can
be resolved FOR GOOD now!

So, to help Alastair out in a different way,

With LAYOUT OFF, if I type:
BROWSE invno,duedate,rComment FROM invoices
I get double-spacing.

BROWSE invno,duedate,rComment=60 FROM invoices
Gives single-spacing. The field, rComment is a 60-character TEXT field.

We'll figure all this out just in time for the completely new and enhanced
browser that will be shipping with the Magical R:BASE version 7.0!!!

Sami

Edit screen are not recorded in the database structure. The count of rows
shown by the List command will be wrong; reload or pack will report the
error.

Later I discovered the link to LAYOUT ON, which is probably why it couldn't
be duplicated.
