Frank,
With respect to your opinion, I feel that it is best that I further
explain my reasoning so that there is less misunderstanding as to
why we postponed the event.
I agree completely that we as patriotic Americans should not let
the evil and misguided people behind these actions dictate our
future.
However, I am also compelled to respect the pleas from our lovely
international partners in Japan, Australia, Switzerland, United
Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Greece and Netherlands, to mention few,
who have petitioned me to reschedule the event because of the
threat to international travelers.
Frank, NOBODY was more disappointed of the postponement than
myself. Those who know me realize the excitement and enthusiasm
that I experience during the conference and events leading up
to it. You have been to several of the conferences, and I'm sure
you can attest to that. But, we are forced to look at things
realistically and rationally, rather than being driven by our
emotions.
I take pride to share and demonstrate our achievements and new
R:BASE innovations everyday in my life, and especially at the
R:BASE Developers' Conference each year.
I took this decision very seriously, and consulted with my
closest friends, confidants, and conference speakers to gain
their input on the matter. They also reassured me that the
right decision was to postpone the event due to the unsettling
times ahead that require me to remain on alert for immediate
response to the needs of my US Government clients in Washington,
D.C. and Norfolk, Virginia.
This places me in a position of having to divert my FULL
attention from the important and enormous task of organizing
Conference details, which is simply unfair to the R:BASE
community. My goal has always been to give the R:BASE community
my absolute best, and when I cannot do that because of pressing
reasons such as this, I must act in the best interest of ALL,
as disappointing as that is.
I hope you can respect my reasoning, and understand that this
is NOT an act of submission, but an act of compassion.
Respectfully,
Razzak.
