The R:Base 2000 (version 6.5) Runtime installation instructions state that
you should set Files and Buffers to 60.

I have also noticed strange behavior from R:Base and R:Base Runtime if I
didn't reset these settings to 60.

Dear Tom :

>>
The first (only) thing that smacked me in the mouth from your data
was a FILES setting of 5.
<<

I never change this setting (I confess that a few weeks ago I did't know
what it was for) and I never had similar problem, even in more complex
app.

>>
As the problem occurs not on other OS and is not easily replicated
it is unlikely to be the cause...but as a test, change it to 35 and if
the problem goes away... GREAT!
<<

As this setting is easy to change, I'll try ... but I don't think this
will
help.

>>
Did you run the code with SET MESSAGES ON and SET ERROR
MESSAGES ON as well as TRACEing it?
<<

Yes.
But it can't help because coding is not concerned : problem happen always
during EDIT USING FormName.
