Save it to a text file and then print it. You will need to work with the
formatting.

Dot matrix printers print REALLY slow with windows fonts because they print
it graphically.

Subject: Printing problem

I have moved a client using RB 6.1 for dos in a dos box
to using RB 6.5++ for windows.

They have one report that is printed to a Okidata 395 onto 14" wide carridge
green bar.
The report is between 250 and 350 pages for each run.

To Generate this report to file it take 3-5 minutes.
Spooling it directly to the printer now take 2-3 hours, and then printing is
another 2-3 hours.

It was taking 1-2 hours total to print under the dos version under windows.

I have tried doing the:

OUT filename
PRINT report
OUT screen

Out Printer
type filename
OUT screen

The printer is using proportional fonts even though I have manually set it
UTILITY/DRAFT mode.

I have also changed the fonts to Courier so that it could use mono spaced
fonts

All I want to do is dump data to paper as fast as possible, I am not real
particular on the font or print quality. Speed is more import.

Anybody have Ideas??

Thanks,

Fred Antrobus
