As some of you said it worked for you I created a new database, new table, populated a dozen rows with varying length data and - lo and behold - it worked for me, too! I then went straight back to my original database and tried again and it failed. The original DB is reloaded regularly and I keep a reloaded copy separately - this also failed. Anybody care to offer any explanation??
