I am running the latest version of R:Base for Windows. The most likely
explanation I can come up with is that I had renamed some columns in my
database and attempted to make all the necessary adjustments to views,
reports, etc. but missed one or two. It seems that instead of R:Base
generating an error and _MY_ code crashing it actually caused Windows 2000
to generate some errors which ultimately crashed R:Base. Based on Sami's
recommendation I went over some of my code with the proverbial fine-toothed
comb and found the "bugs". It also gave me a chance to improve my coding by
taking a more efficient approach. I used R:Code to check my programs which
is an immense help.

It's funny that the problem is generally sporadic. The error wouldn't
happen each time. Things have been stable for the last day or two. We'll
see how it goes for the rest of the week.

Thanks

I am getting frequent crashes in R:Base (latest version) running under
Windows 2000. The error I get is:
The instruction at 0x00745x07 referenced memory at 0x1263410c. The memory
could not be "read".

Which RB version (DOS or Windows) ?

Can the error be duplicate on the W2K hardware ?

Is the same app working OK on W98 ?

I have a similar error that spoil my life since about 2 years on some
client's PC running NT 4.0
Happen with all RBW versions since 6.1a including tha last build 1.851xRT03

I reported it (with Dr Watson log files) on this list and at RDCC.
Without any success because it seems to happen only on some hardware (most
of the time IBM and COMPAQ running NT 4.0).
The same app runs OK on W95/98 all all others site.

Every time it happen, a form is involved.
Most of the time RBW is trying to update the current row when Error windows
display ....
