Hi Bernie,

Marnie Moore gave a presentation at the 1999 Developers' Conference entitled "How to Reverse Engineer a FoxPro Schema."  This technique uses Visio Professional to diagram the schema including the relationships.  I have used this on recent projects and it works well on any database with an ODBC driver.  For a R:Base 4.5++ database I had to autoconvert to 6.5++, and do the analysis there.

Marnie's notes in the '99 conference notebook are very complete although Visio has brought out new versions since 1999.  Let me know if you have problems I can help you with.

Subject: need help with foxbase

I'm going to see a prospect that just lost his programmer and can't find any more foxy programmers.
He has the dos version of foxbase or foxpro.

I know that rbase can read those files.  I also know that each table is a separate .dbf file.

But how do you get to see the relationships between the tables and where are the forms and reports located and how do I get into the program.

I don't need a course in fox, just enuff to look at the program.  Naturally, my goal is to get him to move into rbase, so I would appreciate any help I can get.
