Another approach would be to determine the total rows to process before 
beginning the loop, dividing it by, say, 20, to find the nearest integer to 
5% of the total, and putting up the pause only when each 5% boundary is 
crossed by your row counter.  You could even make it graphical, with 20 
hyphens gradually filling the PAUSE box.
