Books are still the most efficient method of random access (although not
for random search) but bound manuals are not practical when the text
requires frequent updates. People tried loose-leaf etc in the past but I
agree the best way is with a PDF file; I personally dislike HTML for
help and, anyway, Acrobat has superior text search. PDF can be updated
easily and one or more selected pages can be printed as required.
