The problem with printed documentation for software nowadays is that
software changes quicker than the print shop can print the books!!

it's very easy get a pdf version of R:Base Online Documentation with Adobe
Acrobat 5. With this version 5 of Adobe Acrobat you can get all the website
of online documentation in about 40 minutes, only with the URL address in
the file option of main menu starts the process. Also, you can navigate for
the document pdf with the hyperlinks created in the process.

I've this pdf of 4 Mbytes (an image of web) with 1127 pages ready to print
