A book may not be need for existing Rbase users, but a book is a necessity
for new users. I still refer to the books I got with the original Rbase. I
would buy a current book version for $100.00 as the time saved looking for
something to do something new, etc would pay for the book. The time to
browse through a html, chm or pdf files is much more time consuming than a
book.

>> Some wild guessing, based on past publishing experience, is that --
considering the number of copies, and the short shelf-life until the RBTI
Design Team comes up with the next great feature-laden new release --
the cost per volume would be pretty high to produce printed manuals. So
the real is, would you pay an extra $75 or $100 for your R:Base bound
books, with no more content than you get in the html or chm files? <<

I think the idea of a PDF or other easily printable version, would be the
best compromise. It lets people have whatever printed documentation they
want, without driving costs too high.
