This is probably what you don't want to hear, but, we've used a network data
collection system to poll scanned data. Allows up to 250 data collection devices.
In our case, we've used 2 terminals connected via 1 controller (allowing 5
in/out's). Scanner, gun-type connected to the terminals. R:base programmed to
collect data from this system every 20 seconds, parse data into tables, etc... If

may be as expensive as 4 PC's(?)
