I am glad to hear that you have a viable workaround; hopefully the next
patch will have a fix to this problem.

Subject: RE: GATEWAY EXPORT XLS5

I am using Office 2000 Pro on Win 98E, all updates applied. Version is
9.0.4402 SR-1

The problem is reproducible. Thank you all. Thought I had lost my alleged
mind for a while. I resolved it by trying some more options, and SYLK works
best for what I need to do.

In RBWin I have a command file the has three command lines plus return and
exports the data and opens an Excel sheet with the data in it. Sylk is
automatically defined as an Excel file in Office applications. LAUNCH makes
life easy, does it not!

CONNECT <dbname>

GATEWAY EXPORT SYLK filename.SLK SELECT ...

LAUNCH filename.SLK

RETURN
