I do recall using (Char(0)) + (Char(92)) ... (Char(0)) + (Char(95)) in the good 'ole days of DOS and RB4.5+ When I tried this, the result produced a <CR> advancing to the next field after the PLAYBACK. While looking at the WRITE statement syntax, I discovered a new option: WRITE .var TO {filename} I was excited to think this may be what I was looking for, but my hopes were dashed when I found the command did not work as specified in the on-line help.
