I finally have had enough time to create an image database based upon the
document "Storing Pictures or Graphics as BLOB'
I created the database table and will be using additional attributes to
describe the type of file being used in my form edit window or in the
report.
I have however run into some "wonder" questions that I would like to ask
this group if they have encountered this or how they would work around it.

1. On the Add Form: I recognize that the best way to add an animated
GIF (this is what I am starting with) is by using the Shift F10 so that you
do not have to write in the entire path to the image nor do you have to copy
it into a manual key. My question or statement is: can you automate this
Shift F-10 to scan an entire directory and look for any filename with an
extension of GIF? If so, I imagine that it would come through a RMD file.
True? Would you change directory to the target and then do a cursor with an
insert? What would be your terminator if you used a *.GIF from that
directory? Can you use a cursor to select the filenames that met the
criteria?

2. When you display in the form the GIF, it does not animate. It shows
as a static picture. To cure this, I changed the file association in
Explorer to associate Internet Explorer with the GIF extension. I can then
use the LAUNCH <PATH:FILENAME.EXT> and it will launch the GIF and show as
animated. When you close it out, it returns back to Rbase. This is good,
if I could get the filename into a variable from the column ImagData which
shows in the table as [GIF,53248,9862]. Is there a way to get the filename
and path from the VarBit so that I can use it?
