Posts: 4 Well im new, and love how every aspect of RB is perfect
and now i would like to know what engines/libraries for 2D and 3D RealBasic
uses... why ? Because i dev. games for a hobby.

Location: Boiling Springs, SC Realbasic utilizes the GL Graphics
libraries. You may find out more about GL at OpenGL (http://adf.ly/DufwM). If
you are new to Realbasic, I might recommend
getting started learning how to use the GL classes built into Realbasic by
seeing how they work

http://adf.ly/Dufb7 (Great place to learn how to use 3d graphics and
Realbasic!!!)

Norman Palardy also has a great library at the following links:

http://adf.ly/DufhO
Quote - "A discussion of the basic physics behind planetary motion. JC also
covers some of the issues involved when simulating a planetary system.
He also demonstrates how to use a vectorial version of RK4 to simulate a
three-body system."

(One of most interest to you)
http://adf.ly/Dufik
Quote - "Renegades - a Realtime 3D Game Engine
Let Joe Strout lead you through the narrow corridors of creating a 3D game
engine of your own. As you crawl through the code with Joe, getting your hands
dirty and your mind expanded, you will learn how to apply 3D game engine design
to your own project. Come on, get dirty and amaze us with the games you create!"

You may wish to browse his library as there are also lessons on vector
graphics, simulation development, and all of the sorts. Being new, if you ever
have a question, feel free to contact me anytime and I will answer your
questions to the best of my knowledge or point you in the right direction. You
may be interested in the Real Studio Developer's Library (still in beta at the
moment but available for download and is FREEWARE for RB developers ) as it
contains a large number of examples, code snippets, custom controls, and you
can store useful code you come across for easy access (holds files/projects,
screenshots, code)... it also features a Visual basic to Realbasic converter
in-case you have any vb projects you may wish to convert.

Can be found and downloaded here (Mac/Windows/Linux versions):
http://adf.ly/Dufl9

Hopefully that will get you started....

Posts: 4 Good reply, thanks, but... you have skipped the 2D...
and im actually 90% into 2D since i haven't nailed 2D yet, thus im not gona use
3D for any purpose until i get some stuff learned and done in 2D first.

Location: San Diego, CA 2D is simply drawing line, polygons,
circles ... you basic geometric shapes

Those are done using DRAWLINE, DRAWOVAL etc.

1000 times easier that OpenGL for 3D

here is a cut-out of one of the 2D games I am working on

all done with the type of built in commands mentioned above

Location: San Diego, CA not running on "anything" ... all 2D
graphics commands are BUILT-IN to RealStudio

Please look at the supplied LangRef and User Guide....
