Control panel > Administration > data siurces (odbc)
click the system dsn tab.
add the 7.1 driver, give the path to concomp.
Then connect to another db and sconnect concomp.
See Bill Downall's previous reply.
This works. I am having trouble connecting from Visio using the Ottero 3.0 driver.

Bernie,

Just a follow on question? I am trying to figure this SCONNECT out also.

I have tried to set up a DSN but either I am just to dense to understand the
process
or I am missing something.

If I just type SCONNECT at the R: prompt I am given a bunch of options.
From there it goes down hill. No matter what I have tried I get some sort of
error message.

I have even pasted the following command from the help file to the R prompt;

SCONNECT ';driver=RBASE 7.1 Database Driver
(*.rb1);dbq=C:\rbti\rbg7\calman\certs\certs'

This gives me the error
[Microsoft] [ODBC Device Manager] Data source name not found and no default
driver specified

I am using 7.1.77.30908.

Any ideas?

Jan
