Can I recommend that when you convert the music that you do not store it in a compressed format. Since storage is so cheap ( I have a 4 disk IDE/Firewire box of about 800Gig capacity w/ less than $800 invested), when ever I store this type of media, I keep it as close to uncompressed as the copying technology will allow, then I compress it for transfer in an appropriate to use size..
