My trick was always, at the command prompt, typing EXPLORER .
Your friend's trick saves 3 keystrokes.

Actually, it's just Window's way of trying to "launch" a directory. You can do the same thing from a command prompt by typing START . to get the Windows Explorer (in fact, that's what my friend showed me -- he's not a database programmer). -- Larry
