Tom,
 Insure that when you go into the designer, that the page setup for the label
is set to landscape, etc.  Then you must insure that all components are located
within the margins of the label.  I believe I have seen the "no output" happen
when I had the page setup to portrait and placed field locations accordingly and
then changed page setup to landscape, throwing some field locations out of the margin area.  Although it has been a long time since I had this happen, my memory
may be inaccurate.
