I run into this condition until I figure out my big duh! I was replacing data for a column that was used for the selection:

EDIT * from my_table WHERE my_column = ‘CAR’

Then I did a global replace of my_column to ‘TRUCK’

And all the rows disappeared without a message and all that is left is a blank row…but this is the correct behavior since my_column is no longer = “CAR’ and no rows meet the original selection condition …hence the duh!

Is this by any chance what is happening to you?

Subject: [RBG7-L] - RE: Replace all column values in Data Browser.

I have noticed that when I do the same thing , replacing a column of values with a single value, the screen dumps the table except for a last blank row, then, when I recall the same table, the values have been replaced properly. The more rows, the more it happens - ergo one might surmise it is a memory problem, or, as others may surmise,  maybe I have a problem. I do not, however, get an error message of any kind. Dave.

It's probably too obvious but shouldn't you put '100772' or 'X100772'?

Well, it's not obvious to me!!!!  But it does make a difference -- when I do
that I get the error "Resources Are Not Available" (I'm the only user in this
database).
