I have also experienced the dreaded 'Resources Are Not Available' when trying to update all rows in a single user mode (Multi set off). As I think back, it probably was always after I aborted an Rbase session with the Bill Gates three finger salute. I have found that rebooting the system clears up the error. I suspect that Javier is correct that a 'Phantom' rbase session was left open by the ungraceful way I stopped the process.
Is there a graceful way to stop an .rmd file from processing (like <Ctrl-C> or <Ctrl-Break> in old days with Dos based programs)? Also, when you exit R:Base abnormally, it seems that a "phantom" version continues running on the background, open the Task Manager>>Processes and you will see several RBG7.EXE running, make sure you end all these processes before you re-start R:Base; I am not sure but it is possible that these processes are causing the "Resources..." message. Javier,
