Dennis,
Our company has a small facility on TS that is 4 states away and have virtually no problems! (Only when the internet connection goes down)  We print about 200 pages a day with barcodes and some graphics without any problems.

I do not remember if I answered this thread before or not, but will put forward some ideas that I have found to be pretty helpful.

1) Only use printer drivers that come with the Server.  I.E. if you are using a Win2K box, then only use drivers that came with it.  If you are using a HP printer that the server does not have, use an earlier version.  I.E. If you have a 4180 printer, use a 4100 driver if needed.

2)Do not use an "All in One" driver with terminal services.  From different forums I have read, HP drivers (especially All in One printers) are really bad about being standardized.

3) Insure that ALL the driver settings are exactly the same on the remote computer as they are on the server. (I am assuming you are printing to the remote user's printer)

I expect your problem is driver related and if you can follow the above, it might clear a lot up.  If not,  then it might simply be that the HP printer model being used is not compatible.  Again, we print pick tickets, packing lists and bill of ladings every day in a facility in PA and our sever is in IN.  We have had very good performance and no problems to speak of.  (Win2K server, XP remotes, HP3380 printer)

I would like to terminate Terminal Services!

Printing a vanilla report, all pages (the default), the user must "ready" their printer for every page. But, when they specify the page range (1-x) for all pages, then it works just fine. ?????

Any ideas why that would be?

You might want to compare the properties of both reports (page sizes, orientation, margins, etc.) and see if you can spot a difference.

Thanks Javier,

I'll have them check, but a 10-20 page report prints with no intervention whereas this large report requires that they press the Ready button on every page.

It is likely that the printer is setup for manual page feeding (manual tray feed). In both of my printers (Minolta, Lexmark), if the printer is set up for the manual feed tray, it will prompt after each page and when you press the button it redirects to the default tray. When you display the form to the screen and then click on the printer icon, it will open a window; you can access from there the printer settings and verify the paper source.

RB7.1 (Official release)

Terminal Services
All reports are printed to the screen and then the user (optionally) clicks on the printer icon.
They've only being on RB7x for a couple of weeks. When they print a 180 page report on an HP laserjet 1100A, they have to press Ready after every page. Anything I can do on the printer/Rbase side or is it printer settings/spooling?

Thanks,

Dennis
