3 v 6 w is the same to a lamp regardless of whether it comes from a
bottle generator or a dynamo hub.  

Resistance from a bottle generator is going to be more than from a
dynamo hub.  In addition to the real resistance, there's the
psychological resistance: you hear that sound and you can just feel that
resistance dragging you down.  Of course, when you're not running it,
there is zero additional resistance, unlike the dyno hub, which does
have a very slight amt of drag when the lamp is not on.

You also have to pay more mind to a bottle generator than a dyno hub, to
make sure the mounting screw didn't loosen and it didn't change angle:
that not only can kill your tires, it can destroy the generator in very
short order.
