Dustin...Quickbeams work just fine in the hills! I purchased mine when I lived in LA (basically flat) and it worked great. I promptly relocated to East Texas (basically hilly), thought I wouldn't be using the Quickbeam much, and it still works great. I ride it a lot. Pedal up hill....zoom down hill...repeat.
