I did it this last weekend with 30 x 28 as as my lowest gear and that was
just about perfect for me.  Of course, there were hammerhead roadies doing
it using what might have been 39 x 25 gearing or higher and they blew right
on by me, so I may just have wobbly legs.  Really picturesque ride
though--first time for me since I just moved here a few months back:
