Is there a chance that this could be good for those of us who like the non-racing style of riding (as opposed to our friends who don't race either but shop for parts as if they do and get won over by the marketing as if they do)?
Is there a chance that this Electronic Shifting System could take over the racing world, but NOT win over the Non-Bobbish racer-emulators due to prohibitive cost, along with a realization that throwing out their 2008 Shimano and Campy (that had just been touted as "gone to 11" both literally and figuratively) in favor of yet another new system is really just overly decadent and beyond ridiculous. In other words, could the enthusiasts who emulate racers finally accept that this new part that will be indispensable for racing will be something that they really don't want? If so, I think this could be good for the way that companies develop parts for all of us non-racers. It could help to bring into question the assumption that all of us desire the trickle-down of racing-style parts. -James -----Original Message----- >From: Jim Cloud <[email protected]> >Sent: Feb 14, 2009 12:22 PM >To: RBW Owners Bunch <[email protected]> >Subject: [RBW] EEK!!!
