That's what drives some folks back to down tube shifters.  I may put
DT's on my commuter. Its cheap Nashbar front rack really interferes
with the bar end cable runs.  I don't wind up shifting that bike all
that much, so DT shifters wouldn't be a big deal.  Maybe the next time
I re-tape the bars.
