I've done quite a few centuries and longer rides on my Atlantis, including one incomplete brevet attempt in 2005, but yesterday I finally managed to finish a brevet.
By my count, there were 3 Rambouillets, 2 Atlantises, and maybe even a Riv custom that turned out for the event. The guy on the other Atlantis was an incredibly strong rider. Besides Rivs, there were many examples of swanky lugged steel bikes, old and new. Of interest to this list: I contemplated various tire choices (Jack Brown green, Rolly Poly, Pasela), but decided to stick with the Jack Brown blues that were already on the bike. I like their toughness, and they seem to roll just fine. In hindsight, there are a number of things I could have done to substantially improve my time, but in this case faster tires wouldn't have made much difference. Anyway, here's my more detailed blog post on the subject. No Riv content, except that I was riding one: http://planetary-gears.blogspot.com/2009/05/apple-valley-200k.html --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
