Yep, weather is one big x-factor. Another thing to consider is whether
one rides with friends, tries to keep up with faster riders, or waits
a bit for slower riders, etc. I did some of both, and I'm pretty sure
it added a bit of time to my ride. Not a lot of time, though, and my
companions made the ride much more enjoyable.
