That's the big dilemma. While it can be fun to go at a leisurely pace it also drags the ride out. Last year was my first year riding brevets and my goals were simple--to have fun, to finish, to not bonk and not cramp. I managed all of these. I started this year with a goal of completing a super rando series with R70 honors (in 70% of allotted time) and to finish, have fun, not cramp, and not bonk. While I've managed my R70 times (barely) I've had cramps, the beginning of a bonk and have suffered more all of which contributes to less fun. I'm shooting for completing the 400k in under 18hrs but I'll hopefully be riding smarter which means I won't go fast at the beginning like I did at the 300k and I'll be much more diligent about hydration and eating. --mike --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
