If you wish to limit yourself to a fender no wider than 50-52mm, fine. Some feel that width is adequate for a 42mm Hetre. > >I respectfully submit, Riv's charts are wrong. Where in the 700C world is the equivalent of the Hetre? If the big argument of the "700C, 650B, mox nix, it's just a way to get a wide tire into a small frame" is that there is no difference in the tires, the diameter matters only as diameter. For that to be true, there would have to be a tire of the same width and suppleness in the 622 size as the Hetre. In my sizes (59-60cm) those bikes are 622, and the intended tire is a 33.3mm Jack Brown. Trust me, there's a lot of difference between a 42mm Hetre and any 33mm tire. Regarding the Hetre's "unproven toughness" -- the tire's been out there for more than a year. It's a road tire. I wouldn't use it on a track littered with large sharp stones. But then, I don't ride on tracks littered with sharp stones. On Northern Virginia dirt roads, of which we have a nice network, the Hetre is wonderful. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
