25 kg is stamped into the metal on the Soma Deco racks that we've
sold, and subjectively it feels very sturdy, but far be it from me to
dispute something that's published on the internet.

Of course, if I was regularly carrying 50+ pounds on my rack and rack
failure represented a risk I couldn't tolerate, I'd spring for a
Surly, Tubus, BG, or some other heavy-duty touring rack. The Soma rack
looks cool and is solidly built, but it's kind of a weird design for
most panniers. The lower attachment point for the panniers is pretty
high for many panniers, but there are easy workarounds.
