The road climb averages 6% to 7% before it hits the final summit push. The final approx. 2 miles hits 12% - 15% in places. I've done it on my Quickbeam geared 32/20 and could probably go to an 18. The dirt climb gets much steeper and requires a lot of what I call 24" gearing (i.e., 2 feet).
