I think you mostly remember correctly, though it's clearly a two lane dirt 
road for around here (though given the terrain, folks are often 
uncomfortable near the edges, so drive near the middle, making it one 
lane). It's as wide as it appears in old photos from just after it was 
converted to road from narrow gauge railroad track. It is 3-4% grade most 
of the way, so takes it sweet time going up or down with lots of 
switchbacks winding and twisting it's way through the landscape, as all 
those types of former railroad roads do. It is likely more known and 
trafficked now than what you remember, but still fairly low traffic if you 
hit is at the right time of the season (May or June, September, October). A 
great country bike road. still has that old wooden bridge with a turn in it
