I know the folks at Riv are nice people and all, but if your brand new $2000 frame is out of spec, then the right thing to do is send it back and get a new one with the correct tolerance. I could understand using such workarounds on an old frame of unknown history, but on a new bike that's totally unacceptable. I could almost understand if it were a Surly, or some other budget frame, but it would still bother me.
