Congrats!  Where in VA?  In the DC Metro area there is a pretty good sized 
Riv community...

So long as you have fenders on the bike the mud/slime will stay off the 
more important parts pretty much on its own.  Mud/Slime is just a badge of 
honor in my books anyway but this has been a very wet year.  Generally if 
I'm bringing the Saluki in wet I give it a light wipe down with a shop rag 
just to get the worst of the standing water off.  But sometimes I let it 
sit a couple days.  

Good luck w/ the new Chev, I haven't ridden one myself but they look 
fabulous!
